How finely you should ground your coffee depends on how you plan to prepare it. Drip coffee (including most coffee machines) requires a very find grind, about the consistency of sugar; espresso machines require a very fine, powdery grind.

If you've never had iced coffee, you're missing a treat. You don't have to do anything special, either -- just let your coffee cool down, and pour it over ice cubes. The coldness will bring out the unique flavors of the coffee that you don't notice when it's hot.

When drinking iced coffee, you don't have to water down your drink with regular ice cubes. Instead, make coffee ice cubes in an ice cube tray, and use those cubes in your drink. If you want to get fancy, add a coffee bean to each ice cube. This is great for parties.
