Although cell phones are handy little devices that make us available to anyone anywhere, it's rude to answer one in a restaurant. Turn your cell phone off when you sit down to dine. If you must have a phone conversation, do so in the lobby, bar, or outside.
Not all of us are wine experts, but wine does tend to add a new dimension to fine dining in almost any restaurant. You shouldn't hesitate to ask your wait person for their opinion on a wine, or to request the services of a wine steward or sommelier.
